Schools up and down the country are struggling. The new academic year has barely begun and already the battle has started with overstretched budgets, the post-Covid fallout, pupil anxiety, staffing issues, pay and conditions, attendance, dangerous concrete - and Gillian Keegan wants a pat on the back! So, at what cost is all of this to our children? Does the government intend to rethink the allocation of funds to schools? Will local authorities address the climbing mental-ill heath among staff and pupils? What will it take to prioritise the needs of the next generation amidst the cost of living crisis?
